Sociological Bulletin Aim and Scope

Sociological Bulletin, a journal of the Indian Sociological Society, was launched on 1 March 1952. The credit for founding both the Indian Sociological Society and the Sociological Bulletin goes to G. S. Ghurye, the then Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at the University of Bombay. From 2021, the journal has become a quarterly refereed journal. The journal is a powerful platform for sociologists and social scientists to share their research with the professional fraternity. Non-sociologists and non-members of the Indian Sociological Society are not prohibited from their contributions to the journal. Owing to its liberal policy of accepting contributions from all social scientists and from any region of the world, it is pertinent to inform that various articles of this journal, despite their main focus on India, have published about societies of thirty-seven different countries. Using qualitative, quantitative, textual, triangulation and historical data, the journal publishes three kinds of articles, namely discursive, empirical and historical.
