Journal Suggester

Find the right journal for your manuscript — paste your abstract or just add keywords, then filter by subject, access type, quartile and impact factor.

How it works: Paste your abstract (or type keywords), choose your subject, set any preferences, and we’ll rank journals by how well they match your work. All filters are optional — the more you provide, the more accurate the match.

What is a journal suggester?

A journal suggester is a free tool that helps researchers, authors and students find the best academic journal for their manuscript. By analysing your abstract or keywords, it ranks journals that match your scope, audience and chosen filters.

Why use this tool?

  • Save time — avoid manually searching dozens of journal websites.
  • Avoid predatory journals — we only suggest journals from our curated, indexed database.
  • Match your access preference — filter by Open Access or Subscription.
  • Aim for the right tier — choose your quartile (Q1–Q4) and minimum Impact Factor.
  • Find APC-free options if budget is a concern.

Tips for better matches

  1. Paste your full abstract — longer text gives more keywords.
  2. Add specific technical terms in the manual keywords box (e.g. species names, methods, drug names).
  3. Pick the most specific subject available — "Cardiology" beats "Medicine" for a heart-disease paper.
  4. Set a realistic Impact Factor minimum: high-IF journals reject many submissions; mid-IF venues accept faster.
  5. Check the advanced finder for power filters (multiple indexings, IF range, etc.).
