The Indian Journal of Anaesthesia (ISSN 0019-5049) or IJA, is the official scientific journal of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, which at a membership strength of nearly 20000 is the 2nd largest society of anaesthesiologists in the world. The Indian Journal of Anaesthesia was first published in 1953 by Dr. M.C. Ganguly as its Editor. The IJA which is an indexed, peer-reviewed journal, originated as a platform for the scientific expression of the ISA which is the umbrella society to which almost all anesthesiologists in India belong. However, it has grown over the years to be international in its scope, also accepting selected articles of merit from contributors all over the world. IJA is published Monthly.
