Operations Research 是一本致力于发表该领域研究成果的学术期刊 Decision Sciences. Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences 是这本受人尊敬的期刊的出版商。. P-ISSN 分配给 Operations Research 是 0030-364X 它的缩写形式是 Oper Res.
The science of decision-making embodied in Operations Research encompasses many areas. They represent methodologies, such as decision analysis, optimization, simulation, and stochastic modeling, as well as particular domains of application, such as energy and environmental systems, financial engineering, military and homeland security analyses, management of operations and supply chains, and transportation systems, and areas that bridge methodology and application, such as market analysis, pricing and revenue management, machine learning and data science, public policy modeling, and the practice of operations research. These areas are directly represented in the journal’s editorial structure to ensure that the journal represents the best of operations research as the science of better decision-making.
In comparison to the previous area structure of the journal, the areas of Computational Economics; Games, Information and Networks; and Marketing Science have been discontinued; although authors intending to submit to any of these areas should find opportunities for submission to the new or existing areas of the journal. For example, many papers in Games, Information, and Networks and Marketing Science areas should be highly relevant for the new Revenue Management and Market Analytics area. In addition, many Computational Economics papers, particularly those focused on empirical studies, should be of interest for the new Machine Learning and Data Science area of the journal. We are also currently investigating ways to enable more commentary from the community on submissions to fulfill the role that the OR Forum has played.
The new areas of Marketing Analytics and Revenue Management and Machine Learning and Data Science reflect recent trends in the evolution of the field to include the design and analysis of innovative marketplace additions and to incorporate creative ways to employ the expanding availability of data to guide better decision making. These areas will aim to publish papers that lay the foundation for future developments building on the core methodologies and scientific approach to decision making that have defined operations research. As in all of the areas of the journal, we encourage authors who provide new perspectives on the processes of modeling, analysis, and computation and who introduce new domains of application.
